Men were created as Jije's champions, to drive back the demonic taint that has infested the world and serve as exemplars of his philosophies.  But over time in their floating capital of Adamis they grew proud, arrogant and power hungry, eventually leading to the fall of Adamis and the cursing of Men into 4 subraces, none of which looking remotely like their original form: The Sons of Annihilation, the Cursed Wyrms, the Scroungers, and the Ocean Cast

==== Quintanium Forging ====
Quintanium Forging, a process of crafting an extremely hard yet durable magical element, one with a crystalline structure arranged in patterns of five, hence its name.  With it they are able to construct weapons and structural braces that render them nigh unbreakable.  Soon Adamis and its children are adorned with the red tinted material.

==== Transmutation Magic ====
Experiments on the Tiporea (the predecessors of the Pomharpies) revealed to Men the secrets of attaining the properties of materials or creatures for a time.  This has lead to fantastic advances in their matierial and even their own physical constitutions.  They can adapt properties of themselves.

=== Air Chariots ===
<del>Adamis and its inhabitants are quickly taught the ways of Air Chariots, magically enchanted platforms carried by wind elementals so that they can sweep down to the surface world.  This gives Men their own transportation and lifeline apart from Jije, allowing them to flourish and thrive, growing into their intended roll.  Outposts are established in defensible areas, and Men quickly cut their teeth against the demonically infested wildlife below.</del>

Men quickly learn the intricacies of this, and begin using untold powers of elemental and ethereal magic to augment their already formidable learning.  This also lends them to becoming fierce mages and wizards to smite the demons infesting the surface.</del>
